And for those of you who wandered in here not sure if you were an addict or not, here is a simple test:
- Do you own a team?
- Do you GM more than 2 teams?
- Do you have more than 11 players?
- Do you boost them all?
- Do you buy custom equipment for them all?
- Do you upload pictures for there custom equipment?
- Do you play at work?
If you answered yes to 5-7 of these you are an addict.
If you answered yes to 2-4 of these you are on that slippery slope that leads to addiction, but you're not there yet.
If you answered yes to 0-1 of these you are not an addict and therefore should have never clicked the thread.
With the simple test above, the GLB Addicts formally began making their mark on Goallineblitz. Trent couldn't have known it then, but that was the start of his teams run to WEPL and the rapid collection of like minded, addicted individuals that would eventually swell the ranks and reputation of the GLB Addicts.
Mission Statement
The GLB Addicts are a group of agents who have come together to learn from and assist with the addiction each suffers with: the desire to incessantly play GLB. In the Addict private forum, we share our knowledge and passion for the game amidst a plethora of hilarity and hijinks. We help each other in recruiting for Addict team owners' roster needs. We help develop winning builds, tactics, and teams.
GLB Addicts are distinguished members of the GLB community. We see ourselves not just as representatives of the GLB Addicts but of the game as a whole. Our conduct is in line with this responsibility, particularly in public forums. We shall provide constructive feedback on ways to improve the game, refrain from winning through exploits, make every attempt to play within the spirit of the rules of the game, and help newcomers to the game learn more about how to succeed in the dotball world.
Above all, the GLB Addicts win and have fun doing it.
History
Founded in early June 2008, unofficially, by Trentw, the GLB Addicts are at their core, a group of GLB adherents who are completely and unapologetically dedicated to their beloved game of GoalLineBlitz. They are fiercely loyal to one another and are widely considered to be some of the top player builders and team architects in the game.
While not strictly a formal organization, the advent of private forums, and the Addicts formation of their own, rapidly evolved the group into a much more closed organiation as compared to the old days, when they mainly "hung out" on three threads; the main Goallineblitz "GLB Addicts Support Group" thread: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=362730 , the "Addicted Players looking for Addicted Teams" and Addicted Teams looking for Addicted Players Thread.
Their are certain teams amongst the Addicts considered "Addict" teams. Generally any team owned by an owner considered part of the GLB Addicts is welcomed to recruit amongst them.
The acknowledged founder, "Gawdfather of Addicts", is Trentw, and he has several close Addict friends on the site, chief amongst those being Ben Sanderson and Stonewall, and many others of course. They, amongst others, can be considered the founding fathers of the Addicts.
In the midst of Season 14, then current Don Valakar stepped down and current Don GmanV2 became Don of the Addicts. Vladykins replaced GmanV2 before Season 22.
